Default Strange Noise Coming from GS430

Just wanted to know if anyone ever a strange tapping noise coming from near the driver side window when driving in rain. I recently noticed that when I drive in rain at freeway speeds, I noticed a metallic/sharp sounding tapping noise coming from behind my left ear. Almost sounds like someone is tapping a key lightly on the window. When I go slower, the noise decreases, and when there is no rain it goes away. This noise is not your normal rain tapping, so I'm at a loss for answers. Thanks for your help.

Raindrops are striking leading edge of the slightly protruding B-pillar at speed, producing the sound you hear. Have noticed also. No worries.

Thanks for the responses. It does sound like little rocks hitting the windshield. I was thinking about bringing it in to the dealership, but they would probably think I'm outta my mind. Has anyone actually figured out a way to get rid of this noise? Thanks.

I'm on my second GS4 and have lived with this noise since '98. My solution -- crank up the stereo and enjoy the ride.

No solution less you can make it stop raining or redesign and manufacture your GS from A-pillar to C-pillar.

You might could replace your side mirrors with some from, say, A Dodge Ram...that ought to spoil the airflow enough to channel the errant drops away. The apperance may leave something to be desired.......

Hmmm... I've never heard this noise. Maybe it's hailstones?

I hear this sound too, but bringing it to the dealer so they can take it on the highway for a spin to try to find that sound is not going to work. They probably can't fix it in the first place, but just want to take your car out for a joy ride in the meantime.
