Cool Spring is here! Dropped 2 inches with BBS RS II 18x 8.5 front 18x 10 rear

First some acknowledgments
1. Lt. Lex-for letting me rock his OEM 17" Chrome while he is in Japan
2. GlobeCLK- for selling me immaculate BBS wheels.
3. Bitkauna- who won these Daizen springs and GAVE them to me since he no longer has his GS.
4. KristaP- Dave's wife, for bringing me the springs (they were at Dave's) down when she was going through Atlanta on a trip.
5. Chris Donnelly- his 40 min conversation with me at Lexfest 2005 (BBS had a vendor stand) sold me on their quality, forging process and heritage.
6. Team Lexus and Lexus- With Team Lexus using BBS wheels in racing, it showed me their confidence in the product. Seeing the IS-F using BBS wheels standard, reinforced my decision.
7. Autorage- who has sponsored SELOC events and did the installation. They were friendly and flexible and got the job right the first time. Also they gave me honest feedback, which I needed. I hung all around in the shop and all day, it was like being at home.
8. NOPI- for giving me a fantastic deal on the KYG shocks I had to buy last minute.
I've had the wheels since November (had a couple teaser threads ) and wanted to do one more baseline run at the track before I added mods (got my best time 14.5 at our SELOC/GA 3S Track Day last week).

I ordered my tires first thing Monday after the track meet and they came in Friday as scheduled. The install happened Saturday from 10-4pm. One of the reasons it took so long, we discovered my shocks were blown!! We called all over and no one had them in stock. Micah at Autorage remembers NOPI and his guy there hooked me up!! So one my girlfriends picked me up and took me to NOPI as the car sat.

The springs have settled some but I believe will settle a little more by weeks end. The car is driving new with the new shocks, I am floored. I also like the fact the ride is like stock.

My GS 400 had Espelir springs with L-tuned shocks so I will provide a comparison thread in a couple months.

All you need is a TTE front lip and a roof spoiler.

and maybe a car wash

How about tinting your windows?

I was scared b/c with my GS 400, I basically just copied what bitkahuna did so I already knew how the car would look (I purchased identical Wed Farmas for example). Is there anyone else with these wheels on a GS? I haven't seen it. So I was very, dare I say "frightened" to see the car finally rolled out the garage. What if it didn't work out?

This time, I knew the company I wanted, didn't know the wheel I wanted. So I focused on what I wanted.
1. Stealthy, classy, almost stock look. I want "pros" to notice, not everyone. Something that said "hey, that car has something done to it".
2. Race engineered. I will begin going to the track (I drag now) this year. I need a wheel strong enough for the track and street. Doesn't get better than BBS.
3. A "time period" look. I didn't want new 5k wheels on a used 2001 GS. I didn't want the new rims, on an old car. RS IIs debuted around the time the GS 430 did. It was perfect.
4. Chrome lip. Not looking for a lip (though I would go back to one), I was looking for a chrome lip to match the window trip and chrome around the lower part of the car.
5. Sounds crazy, but nothing that is going to get me really noticed at my job.

Negatives
1. No lips, which is the "in" thing now. Sadly, its gone the "my lips are bigger than yours" route like wheel sizes.
2. Mesh is an absolute PAIN to clean. Yuck.
3. I like exposed lug nuts. This style wheel has a cover that goes over them.

Not sure what lip I will get or replace the front bumper. Roof spoiler is also up in the air.
I like people to see me but I think I will tint next week or so.

As for the car wash, I just did a 4 step, clay, paint cleaner, polish, wax that took me 6-7 hours and I will post that thread in the detailing forum. This was after the pics.

Question

1. Oh, they do have BBK clearance
2. They are 2-piece wheels
3. They are 2 different faces, the front is flat and the rear curves inward slightly.

Great choices. Drop looks REALLY good. Not slammed, not high, just right, especially with the rim/tire size.

Even just doing legal tint will look great. I went to a place right across from Hennessey in Gwinnett (Solar something?) and the guy was very professional (he did cars for the dealer).

Looks good Mike. Nice choice of BBS rims too.
