I got my car used with the prior owners garage door programed into the transmiter located on the ceiling, forward from the sunroof. It blinks, flashes and all that but garage door doesn't open??? Oh, is this a standard item on our GS's?

That is the Homelink system. Press and hold the two outside buttons for about 30 seconds. When the lights begin to flash, you have removed all existing programming. Then press and hold one of the buttons unti the light begins to flash. While it is flashing, and you are still holding it, hold your garage door opener next to it and press and hold it also. When the light begins to blink rapidly, you have now programmed this button for your garage door and your door should now open with that button.
