I used to have the Fram Suredrain. Same idea as this but instead of a lever, you screw on a cap with a drain fitting(kinda like an extra key). Only problem I see with the lever one is that someone might pull a fast one on you...lol.
Just got mine in for my GS400 and also for my Subie and Z. I'm a DIY oil changer so this will save on the burns and mess! Let you guys know what my experience is, but this things look great. I don't know how I didn't come across this earlier!
look like a great idea but, i don't change my own oil. why make it easy on the guy charging me 30 bucks! (;p)
You gotta consider the fact that the guy chaning your oil doesn't give a crap about your car. He might A) Use an impact wrench and strip the oil pan B) Not tighten the bolt down and your oil will slowly leak out or if the screw is loose enough it will pop out when you're driving. Either of those thing happening would be detrimental to the health of your engine.
Now...if you have the lever plug all they have to do is flip a piece of metal. Also, it would be really really hard for them to forget to flip the lever back. If they do, the oil will be leaking out as they refill the engine lol!
