Default 1998 GS300 from a friend, too much?

Hey all, I'm looking too purchase a gs300, I have 1 in mind from a friend allready. It has 120,000, 20's, gold on tan. He's got it listed in town for 15,000, but said since i'm a friend he'll do it for 12,000. 3rd owner and serviced at lexus dealership always and clear title. I'm in AZ and cars here are highly overpriced. Does this sound like a good buy?

actually arizona has good prices, better than cali. i say find kelly blue book value then look in the autotrader and see what they are going for near your area and in same condition.

GS's around here genarally go for about $14,000 stock with 90k+. Cars in southern az are genarally $3,000 to $4,000 more than Southern cali (per autotrader and craigslist.) I've been checkin around on the cl forums for a while since i've been in love wit GS's for sometime, Prices on here are generally what im lookin to spend but way too far away.

If its that much more to buy in arizona why dont you look in another state? That is if you can. But to me thats pretty steep. I bought my silver/black 98 gs300 last year jan 06 and it cost me $12,000 with 75,000 miles. People who had 98's with over 100k wanted 13k plus that year. I would say be patient and wait your options out if you dont need the car right away because once you jump into one sloppy deal a 100 better deals will present themselves.

Yeah, i hear u guys, thanx for the input. It's more of a want than a need right now. I have an 04 mazda6s still with wrrty on it, so there really isnt a rush, but i juast want to get out of it. Ex wife bought it for me, memories, yadda yadda yadda. I think i will wait it out. My buddy bought an 98 gs400 w/ 60,000 for 21,000 from a local dealership. After he bought it he found that it had been in a wreck. I'm definately not tryn to get swindled out of a deal like he did. I'll just be patient, and hopefully i can be part of the lexus fam soon.

I think its not that bad of a deal considering he has 20's on them already. You can ask him to take off the 20's and give it to you a bit cheaper.

what
full options with nav for 17k and you feel like you got ripped off.
i think you got a pretty sweet deal.
some 98-2000 GSs at that mileage would go for more or less 17k.
i think you are just sayin you got ripped off to get some attention

I got my 03 with 40K for $17500. You might want to wait because 120k is steep. Youll HATE modding it after seeing the mileage everyday.
