Question A List of WOWs For The GS - Got Some?

In discussions around here we throw out a lot of data, usually comparison data that is pretty impressive that I would never have thought about really.

i.e. The coefficient of drag on the GS is .29, where as the COD on the Supra is .32 - the GS is one of the most slippery cars in the world...

or

The braking distance from 60-0 is shorter than that of the NSX...

That kind of stuff. I love my GS, but I didn't kow it was THAT superior....

What other performance or quality figures can you guys come up with?

They had 3 cars in the top 6 of the English JD power survey. The LS430 was 1st, The GS 2nd and the IS 6th. Talk about customer satisfaction!!!

I remember like a year ago they had a stopping power test. GS is one of the top few in the world, something like 100mph~0mph stopping time was 3rd in the world after 360 Modena and 911 Turbo or something......

Indeed, what amazes me the most is GS's braking distance.

yep... but those great brakes are what got me into an accident... some other car with less than adequate brakes was following too close and reared me. I was able to miss hitting the car who made a sudden stop and turned left... but the guy behind me didnt have enough space to stop. I'm thankful that the brakes prevented me from being sandwiched!!! That would have been worse!

Oh.. another thing to add... the only thing damaged during the accident was my bumper! the other car was totalled! The engine was smashed under their car...
And a while back.. I read here that there was a GS that was in a 100+mph crash and the driver was able to walk away/run away from the cops??? stolen gs I think... I dont recall the details... but that's amazing.

But they will have to first spread their wings before flying south.

I believe the only car that can out-brake the GS from 60-0 is the Z06 C5. The GS out-brakes everything else, including the 911 Turbo, Ferraris, etc...Pretty damn cool if you ask me. A luxo-sport sedan that can out-brake $120K+ supercars!

A clk 55amg can outbrake a gs, as for that gs400 tha got in a crash it was here in washington he was doing 100+mph and crashed into another car, he then got out of the car and took of running but the cops caught him, I remmember this because all my freinds were calling me since the gs that was in the accident looked alot like mine

I checked Yahoo! Autos just now, and the Motor Trend results for 60-0 for the GS3 (2000 model tested) was 114ft. The CLK55AMG (2001 model tested) was 116ft. I'm not one to take magazine tests for gospel, but I think these are pretty accurate (and I'm not saything that just because I'm a Lexus fanatic). Two feet makes a helluva difference if you're trying to come to a stop quickly. Hell, even half an inch can make a difference! Major props to Lexus for putting some bad-*** brakes on the GS. People are really focused on 0-60 time, but 60-0 distance is just as important, maybe even moreso.

I dunno either. I was under the impression that the Bridgestones that Lexus put on the GS/IS were pretty sticky. Lexus always had awesome brakes, and I don't think the GS brakes are that good by accident. I would like to find out a bit more as well...
