Default clunking noise in the front?

Okay so i did a search and alot came up with LCA and Bushings and such. The symptoms are similar but i still dont know what can be wrong. The clunking noise only happens when i come to a stop. If i press on the brakes hard it doesnt happen. It only happens when i slowly push down on the brakes. This all happenned when i changed my front brakes. Do i need to resurface new rotors? Bad installation? What can it be? PLease help the noise is annoying.

if you are on stock brakes check to make sure the slide pin is not sticking .. gs stock brakes have floaring calipers , if when you svc them you dont apply brake grease and overtighten the 14mm bolt the slide pin gets sticky and kinda of delays the contact of the pads to the rotor surface

make sure you put the anti-rattle springs back on the edge of the pads when you installed them. sometimes those things will slip off when you put caliper back on, i would check that first. if thoes pads dont have that little peice of wire spring on them they will make the noise your talkin about.

I had the same exact symptom. It's your brake calipers shifting. It's a loud click when you hit the brakes at low speeds correct? My car still has the remainder of the factory warranty so I took it in and they fixed it without any problems. It wasn't doing it before I got my brakes done at a different place (not a Lexus dealer) but they knew exactly was wrong before I even brought the car in. They've seen this a million times it seems lol...

You'll need to get a shim kit from the dealer. I can't remember the price off the top of my head but it's suppose to not make your pads slide around in the caliper

i had the same problem when i first did my brakes. instead of buying new shim clips i just bent mine into the proper position and the noise went away. i wouldn't waste the money on clips unless they were broken, missing, or rusted.

Shim kit $44 dealer approx

Lower Control Arm would have been $375 + Labor $180

...get
1. 1 jar of brake grease 3.99
2. 2 packs of Disc quiet "blue stuff" 4.99
3. 2 cans of Brake cleaner. 1.77 ea

use this link to redo the brakes
