I have a 98 GS with Navigation. I find myself resetting this thing about twice a week. I am not going on any roads that are new since the update but even on basic roads, the navigation gets confused and starts marking me on the wrong road. Any suggestions?

I have the same damn problem with my 2000 GS4. The Nav is constantly getting lost or the little arrow starts veering off the path and then redirecting me for no reason. It will work just fine sometimes but then other times it can't figure out what road I'm on especially when I'm in the city (Wash DC.) I haven't heard many others complain about this and I got no response when I posed the question a while back. I even had my hard drive updated to the '03 model and it didn't help.

i had the same problem when i had my 98 gs4. It turned out to be the type of tint i used on the windows. It can not be metallic tint. Now i have an 02 430 and i did not use mettalic tint and no navi issues whatsoever. except sometimes in downton due to all the highrises blocking one of the 3 gps signals. Other than that no problems.

I rarely have problems with my nav, only on occassions it will go off but it will redirect itself... I heard of the metallic tint having some problems so i just got regular tint...

When I bought the car it had really dark tint (5%) all around not metallic. I thought that might be the problem so I had it removed. That didn't seem to clear up the problem though.
