As loyal as I am to Lexus and as much as I love my GS, if I had the money to buy an '06 330i with Navi and wasn't worried about paying for the maintenance, I'd jump on it in a heartbeat... more fun out of the box where I've got to spend money getting the GS like I want

I've never cared for BMW myself. I do agree that its all ego. IMO the GS and LS are much better inside than any BMW or Benz out there. I was just looking at them on Ebay and I prefer Lexus better. the Navigation in BMW looks small, hard to read, and far from the driver's view

As a proud new owner of an 07 335i. I should note that maintenance is included for the first 4yrs/50,000 miles. I still have my GS and still enjoy it. I stalled for an IS coupe with a 6spd as long as I could. I test drove the IS350 at the Taste of Lexus event. I think the interior of the Lexus is a notch above BMW, but the handling, steering, and performance outguns Lexus. I frequent the E90post forums and have found, in general, that the BMW a-hole factor is quite high. It seems that a lot of the BMW owners are very snobbish and get very defensive about praising anything Asian (Lexus, Infiniti, Mitsubishi, etc.). For me, both makes are impressive and I have the best of both worlds.

I agree about the ego factor. I frequent a BMW forum and was over there when I almost bought an '04 330i w/ ZHP Performance Package. A lot of them were helpful and there are backers of Lexus over there, but they do become very defensive when a comparison w/ Lexus or other asian makes are mentioned. I feel members here are much more open minded, unbiased, and overall friendly...

About 5 years ago I had 1994 LS400 and one of my coworkers had a 1993 BMW 325. Mine had 175k miles and his had about 100k. The biggest difference between the two cars is that mine was still shiny, extremely quiet, and not a spot of rust. While his had rusted out wheel wells and muffler, sounded horrible, half the electronics didn't work, and worst of all he would always rent a car if he was going on a drive over 60 miles because he was afraid of breaking down. Oh and I still sold my LS400 for $7000. I'm on my third Lex and these things hold up excellent against these northern winters. Never have had any rust.
