Has anyone thought of redtaping the WISE/JP Tails?
I pretty sure almost all CL members know the deal with the tailights. I am wondering if anyone has tried or thought of Redtaping the ebay Led Tails so that the clear part appears thinner. Anybody have any thoughts on this? Cause it seems like we all like the led pattern on the ebay ones with the large clear section...but we like the stock look of the thinner clear section. Would this be a logical DIY?

Yeah, but getting it all to match would be a task. Id say red taping is not your best bet and having the tails spray tinted and then Cleared over would be a much better way to go. I might give it a whirl someday and see how it turns out.

You guys are quick to respond !
I did the red tape thing as an experiment. Long term the tape did not hold well because most of it is stretched around the curved surface. If more of the tape surface area was on the flat part of the lens it would hold better.
I'd suggest using transparent paint (candy red) for long term durability.
For me I got used to the thick clear, but if I had the choice to do it again today, I'd think about getting the new lenses offered with the thinner clear section.
