Hey everyone, I'm in need of some advice. When I press the accelerator after, say stopping at a light, it sounds like there is water is in my dash area around the navigation system . The only time I hear it is when I first take off. Does this sound familiar to anyone?

does it sound like a pressurizing sound? Since you hear it when you first take off.. I am gonna say it might be from your master brake cylinder since that's when you release the brake. If so.. this sound is normal.

did you have your cooling system flushed recently? If so and the system wasn't purged properly you could have some air pockets in there causing this water sound coming from your dash area.

I have heard that a few times in my GS too. It sounds like water running down a waterfall and circulating behind your dash. It does not happen that often and I have heard that same noise in my Mitsu Eclipse and Honda Accord so I don't think it is a big deal as it never caused any problems. I think someone told me it was air bubbles circulating or something with the heater core and was nothing to really worry about unless your temp if fluctuating and the car is overheating which never happend.

I do remember that in my 96 Accord I was shocked to see a bunch of water coming out of the glove campartment one day when running the AC and was wondering why my floor was always damp. I told my dad about it and he knew what it was, turns out grasshoppers and other bugs crawled up or got caught in the AC drain under the right side of the engine bay and caused it to clog and overflow and come out through a part of the glove compartment. We took a screwdriver and stuck it up there to clean out the dead bugs and that cured the problem.
