20' HRE's, Wheel adapter, Offset questions
Ok guys, please help out a new guy here. I just got my GS300 2 weeks ago.
Here she is all cleaned and waxed.
Anyways, my brother (who happens to have an extra set of HRE 547's) sitting in the garage. These are off his range rover sport (he is sponsored by DPE right now, so rolls a set of DPE 22's). The size of the rims are 20x9 +48 offset all the way around. The lug pattern is 5x120. I know my GS is 5x114.3 so here is my question.
If i got some wheel adapters (prob about 12mm) to go from 5x114.3 to 5x120, will this fit my GS? I was searching and found this thread from Rdubz
http://sr1.clublexus.com/forums/show...ighlight=rdubz
and it looks like the "math" on what we are trying to accomplish "should" work. I'm fine with doing some fender rolling, but that is the extent I would like to go. I really don't want to start cutting up the inner trim or pulling fenders.
Anyone have experience doing this? i know I should just probably go get some wheels that fit the car, but hey, a free set of HRE's who can pass that up . . .

Just doing a search online and came up with this dude that does custom adapters.
http://www.wheeladapter.com/home.asp
Looks like he can make adapters for any size application.

One thing you have to remember is that the factory wheels studs sticks out aprox. 20mm from the rotor. Even if you can get the 12mm adaptor, the factory studs will stick out and your new wheels won't mount flush. Its either you cut the factory studs down to size or try to find shorter ones.

I have never seen an adapter made less than 15mm. And only one company makes those for 5x100 to 5x114.3. Other than those which have special lugs and keys and everything, The smallest i have seen is 18mm.

make sure you look at the back of the HRE hub. I think it's flush with no "pockets". some wheels has pocket that will allow you to fit spacer and it will accomodate the oem studs sticking out.
you can always use h&r spacers that comes with longer studs.
