GS4 v. A6 2.7T
#16
I have my GS400 and I love it. We recently puchased my wife a '98 A6 (granted, only the 2.8) and I have to say I do like the car. The Audi has lots of nice things going for it. It is roomier then the GS, and the trunk is cavernous. I also love the quattro. The car is anemic on power, so I know that I could never drive it. I can say I like the ride of the A6 more then the GS, it let's you feel more of the road. But the steering on it is horrible, it is so overboosted it makes my pre-ecu upgraded steering seem BMW like in comparison.
However, I would not necessarily mind driving a 4.2 A6 in a couple of years. The sport seats in Audi crush the seats in the GS, no question. I like both interiors, but Audi's nav is pathetic. I know the 4.2 is not has fast as the GS, but it is still very strong, and much faster anytime the weather get's nasty.
One thing that is good for me is that since I usually buy used, I can get a tremendous deal on an A6 since they drop value like mad. As long as it is certified, I don't feel I am taking too much of a risk. In the meantime, I will continue to love the GS, and hope for an AWD version someday...
