You could also go down to Lexus and buy the GS400 rear deck cover which doesn't have an opening for the center light and install that.

Makes a much better looking installation overall too!
Hmm, good points; I never considered either one of those options.

I will explore those today. The second you we the ultimate phantom install.

Thanks!

I am definitely **not** the person to ask about stereo stuff, but, JHO, heck no.

I base my reply just on hearing teh sub with and without any amp at the stereo shop. The gurus in the Electronics section would be able to help you better.

You can do this, but it's expensive. Unless you are getting parts at a deep discount may not be worth it - me too TYPE A had to have it done with the new deck and the relay.

Can you post a ballpark figure and parts number from your invoice for the relay and new rear deck?

Thanks

Default Relay

What relay?

I think the new rear deck cover was in the range of $400 to $500.

And you could also solve the bulb dianostic problem by using a 27 Ohm 5 watt resister in place of the bulb.

I clipped the tail light filament wires of the trunk lid mounted stop/tail lights and replaced the filament load with 27 Ohm resistors to "surpress" the lamp failure indication.

Gives more "attention" to the application of brakes if these lights come on completely rather than just getting brighter.

Do I understand you to say that you've modded the two round "brake" lights on the trunk lid to go completely on & off in conjunction with the application of the brake?

So they are not on except when you brake?
