Default '01+ tail swap...I didn't know it was NOT plug & play.

I have a 2000 GS400 and as the title says I didn't know that this was NOT a plug and play issue. I should have really researched this before I bought these tails. They did NOT come with the wire harness and my '00 wire harness does NOT fit...obviously. Guys, what should I do and where can I get the correct harness for my new tails? The idiot that I purchased these from on Ebay didn't say ANYTHING about needing a different wire harness (as an upgrade for 98-00 GS models) for these tails. Please help!

Contact your local lexus dealer. Tell them you want the Socket and wire for the 01+ taillights. It should run you about $30 per side.

Otherwise ask the ebay seller for a refund.

Default 01 Tails

The ones I bought came in the original Toyota box and came with the wire harness so the install was very easy. Are they original Toyota parts?

Go to your dealer and they will hook you up.

They are original parts...it's from an '05 GS430. In PERFECT condition! Literally! I got a awesome deal on them but now I run into this...go figure. I'll try my dealership but does any one know of any good websites for something like this? If worst comes to worst I gues I'll have to eat another $60 to get the harness from the stealership...Maybe Carson will sell for cheap, I might check them out.

$60 is not THAT bad... If you were in Cali, i could have hooked you up from the dealer... Maybe you can get a better price if you search...

I think it will be a 'well spent' 60 bucks.

Always do your own research when buying parts online. Most ebay sellers just use the descriptions that were sent to them by the manufacturer.

I understand...thanks for the input guys. I'm impatient - can't wait, I just ordered the harness new from Carson for $55.
