be sure you know what you're getting yourself into.
1. its pre-modded
2. not black on black, as advertised
3. to answer ur question, changer should be in the glove
4. check dmv if you can on this car
5. for a '00 GS4 with 20k +/- miles, negotiate it for less.
6. refer to the 1st line above #1.
GL!
last suggestion: if you can, pop the hood and check it all AND if you can, put it on a lift to check the suspension.

Thanks 4ntvings. I'm pretty sure I'll be able to get it up on a lift. If so, what exactly should I check for on the suspension? I did the coilovers on my SRT myself and my Dad is a state-certified mechanic, who should hopefully be accompanying me to look at this, but if there are any specific things I need to look for, it'd be great to know.

Everyone has given great advice. I would just have to agree with the few members that recommended asking the dealer for the VIN and running a carfax report. Its 20 bucks, and can save you from buying a lemon.
A buddy of mine ran a carfax on his newly acquired VW GTI last week, and found out that it had been in two fender-benders in the past 24 months. Also, some dealers will already have a copy of the carfax, see if he has one already before running your own.
Good luck, and hope to see pictures of the GS in you possession.

Slight overlook chuckb
2002 is the 430
The owner barely drove the car. Have you asked the reason why, unless you don't want him to raise the price.
Seems like people here are worried about the mileage being rolled back or just suspicious of the low mileage?
A somewhat better indicator of mileage is the wear and tear on the gas and brake pedal.
Lexus are pretty reliable...I have a 99 with 145k miles, no problems.
DaveGS4 has a link of all the things to look out for from the "search" buttons.
Good luck

1. The amount of dirt in and around the speaker grills on the door. Takes more than 30k to look that dirty, even if the previous owner was a slob. Same goes for the foot well area.
2. The description is way off from what the car actually is. Volume controls, interior color... blah blah blah...
3. I've bought/sold over 500 used cars in the past 3 years.
To the guy who is thinking about purchasing the car.... go with your gut feeling when you see the car, not your emotions. Check th eheadlights, make sure they are OEM - usually used car dealers will purchase cheap knockoffs if the vehicle was wrecked. Check all the glass, make certain they all match (sme manufacturer) should say Toyota on the glass. Pop the hood and check all the bolts holding the fenders and hood to the car, they should not be scratched or marred in any way - if so, body panels were probably replaced. Make sure a VIN sticker is on each body panel. Also, a 30k mile Lexus should drive like brand spanking new. Good luck.

Thanks again fellas.
I put in a call yesterday and they said the some other guy put a deposit down on it already, but is awaiting approval on the financing. They're gonna call me on Monday with the current status.
Let's all pray he has terrible credit.

carfax?
watch out with carfax. i've owned 2 cars that were in accidents that were not reported on carfax. i currently own a 98 ford escort, that was purchased in 2000, and wrecked a few months later and repaired by the dealer, side impact damage from headlights down to the tail(wife was t'boned)but never showed up on carfax. lucky for me i also purchased a 94 buick park ave back in 04 with 50k miles on it. i was also suspect because of low miles and did a carfax and found nothing wrong. so i went to buy it from the guy (older gentleman late 50's) i told him i did a carfax and before i could tell him it' looked like we have a deal, he said "well it was only a small accident where someone rearended me at a light", and he show me pics so i would believe him. damage about 1500 dollars(thats my estimate) but i bought the car anyway cuase the price was right 3k cash.
i did one anyway on my gs300 but it was three mos after i bought the car, because i didn't trust carfax anymore
p.s
my carfax came up clean when i did checked it
