Default My rear differential let go... Pictures*

Last week when I was driving to work I started hearing this slapping, rear-end noise when I was decelerating sometimes. I raised the car up and everything looked normal. I had to go downtown so I didn't have the option to park it. I was driving along and BAM! I was on the phone with my friend and he asked me "what was that!" I was close to my friends house where my Trans Am is sitting right now with the transmission out, so we tow strapped the Lexus to his house with his Duramax truck. I put the rear of the car in the air and sure enough the rear differential is broke. I got a different differential from a guy on the forum here and I paid for it one morning and it was here the next afternoon! I pulled the Trans Am off the lift and we pushed the Lex on, then swapped the diffs. To our surprise, when we opened up the bad diff you could tell that someone has been it in before. There is paint marker with a date of some month in 2003. I haven't really abused the car at all besides the 2 burnouts for the video I made. If it really broke from abuse you would think I would have ruined a rubber mount or 2 but they are perfect. I think that it broke because someone was in there and replaced something. The pin or shaft that holds the center section together backed out and as you can tell did some damage! On to the pictures...

Did you get a supra diff? Or just a stock one. That's a sad sight to see.

I just got another stock diff because I don't want to throw money at that right now. My transmission for the Trans Am is at the shop getting built up so that's more of a priority right now. The use diff I got was $309 shipped and the Supra rear is almost $1,000 more new.
