It is not dying..Sounds like the usual symptom of gunky Toyota type 4 fluid tranny fluid. Get the tranny fluid exchange service done via T-tech machine..If you can get your hands on Amsoil Universal tranny fluid, or know of a place that carries Amsoil, you will be very pleased with the performance of your tranny with this synthetic.. No clunking, no tranny problems, and stays cleaner longer (25k and still cherry red with mine)...If you can't get your hands on Amsoil, then use the Toyota Type 4 fluid and drain and refill ever 10k.
