Default Are there any gauge cluster upgrades?

IMO i think the gauge cluster looks outdated compared to the rest of the car. i think it should have come brighter with leds and not green. Are there any upgrades out there for the cluster as far as lighting or swaps?

Most people stick with the +01 guage cluster, not to sure about swapping LED's for backlight but some people here have tried to disable the auto dimmer of the guage cluster...

Some backlighting looks greener, some look whiter, differing from car to car and temperature. To learn more about lighting swaps, search for LED gauges, etc. It's extremely tricky, but possible.

i think you can change the colour of the backlights that light up the dials which would give a newer look....i personally want a blueish colour or really bright white.

i have a 99 and was wondering if its a straight swap for a 01+ Cluster cover?
i really like those silver lining around the dials

Yup--plug and play, man. Literally just grab the thing and pull it out.

our clusters actually use CCFL tubes for the backlighting of the gauges, hence why they are able to appear black even during the daytime and then light up when the car comes on.

i believe Vadim540i is looking into doing this. I referred him to AAC's site because he wants to go amber/orange, and i couldn't find orange CCFL's but they did have LED strips that i think would be interesting.
