It's a pretty good cutoff for reflectors but I'm sure it's not "straight like a line". The cutoff is pretty even (if that's what you mean) but the sharpness isn't quite there. I had reflectors before I changed to projectors and definitely noticed a difference with sharpness......even the flare has a sharp though bowed edge.

The thing I was wondering is if it flares off on the far right side which may or may not be present in a cutoff picture unless you are looking for it in particular. Can you send me the link to the thread you viewed? Just want to make heads and tails of everything. Don't want to be giving out any false information.

That is TRUE, the sharpness is not that great. Looks only 50% bright. Is there a way to fix that? How do you adjust the auto level? I think that's my main problem because my driver's side is higher than the passenger side even though I had already adjusted the headlights.

Well...to get the sharpness of projectors you would need projectors. lol. Reflectors aren't designed to be extra sharp and aren't designed to focus the light quite the way projectors do. On the other hand, reflectors can actually be better for your eyes when looking out in the distance at night because there is not such a big contrast between dark and light like you get with projectors. There isn't much of a cutoff line when the light is on the road. The light just kinda fades off.

I switched to projectors cause I like the look. I like the increased focus, sharpness and extra color you get on the cutoff.

I, personally, know of no way to adjust the auto level and I wouldn't mess with the sensor if I were you. But it's your car. What I WOULD do is, leave the driver headlight where it is at and move the passenger headlight higher. If that doesn't work, I'd try to leave the passenger headlight where it is and move the driver headlight lower. That would be done with the adjustment bolts on the back.

I think a lot of people do not understand the "auto-level". The keyword is level. It does not actually adjust the height of your headlights per se. It attempts to keep your headlights at a certain level depending on what type of incline (flat, uphill, downhill) your car is on. This level is based on the height the headlights are set at with those screws on the back.

So if you adjust the height of the headlights to a higher position, the "auto-level" function will just level them at a higher position than before.

Let's not make this more complicated. Adjust the screws on the back if you want the headlights higher. That's the bottom line.

Edit: *Also I just noticed that you originally said the driver's side is higher which is weird. I've edited my post above. For the driver's side to be higher than the passenger side, it would suggest that the headlight was adjusted before.*

Also, make sure that you are on an even surface. If not, it will make the bubble for vertical adjustment appear off. The post by timgs300 is a great guide straight from the repair manual.
