I wouldn't even consider it. I would get a Civic or something for a beater car but not to replace the Lex.

I honestly cant complain about the mileage of the GS, My last 3 cars were all BIG boost so trying to have any fun in them meant 10 mpg or worse....

I was in Atlantic City, New Jersey yesterday and spent less than $3.00 a gallon for premium at a Sunoco on the highway. I can't remember the exact price but I do know that regular was $2.71. I've accepted the fact that $3.00 a gallon and higher for us premium gas users will be the norm. Of course these are prices in the Northeast cuz I hear out in Cali and West Coast it's even more.

High gas prices, especially on the left coast, is more reason to make sure you go through your gas saving checklist:

1.) Keep tires to correct psi
2.) Throw out dead weight in your car
3.) Oil Change, Air Filter, Techron, Seafoam, etc, etc.
4.) USE THE AC less. I even keep my windows slightly cracked on the freeways to avoid AC use. Aristo wind visors really help.
5.) DRIVING STYLE: Go easy on the pedal when accelerating. Coast more before you hit the brakes. Anticipate when the car in front of you is going to have to brake, in order to coast more.

I praise my dad everyday for pre-ordering his 2nd Gen Prius at the end of '03. It seriously feels like your driving for FREEE!!!!!

I thought ours were high but I guess not. I just filled up yesterday and paid $46.00 and the gas light was on for like a second. Still would never sell my car. I'd buy a beater

Wassup Bea, Jersians get killed with high property taxes and I think car insurance is up there too, but the sales tax and tax on gas is below what New Yorkers and people in PA are paying. When I saw the price at that Sunoco station, I couldn't pass on that.

That's just plain ridiculous man. I hope gas prices don't go up that high down here for real. This is just insane.

This is bullsh@* for real, that's exactly what they want us to think. It's called conditioning, there was no reason for the gas prices to go up in the first place and now they're going up even more. So when the prices goes down, consumers will say hey the gas is so cheap and be conditioned to high gas prices.
