Well for me I have a K&N air filter and I pour in the tank a bottle of Chevron Techron fuel system cleaner when I get my oil changed. Haven't turned on the A/C yet so I'm just grabbing air from the outside.

Yeah, I have a 430 and I'm now getting 320/330 a tank, 310/315 when the gas light comes on, but I have 3.92 gears. I'm going back to the stock gears until gas prices comes back down or when there is another track event.

Yeah, something is wrong. I was getting around 305/310 when the gas light would come on in my GS300.

Well check this out.

Figuring gas at $3.25 a gallon, you are putting in 14.15 gallons for $46. You are getting 275mi from 14.15 gallons which equates to 19.43 miles per gallon mixed highway/city. Honestly I think thats exactly where it should be. I mean, I did an all highway trip averaging in the 60mph range for about 1000 miles. I got 23.5 mpg on the trip using premium gas (which I assume your using as well). So you seem like you are right in range with where you should be

Btw- Take this into account, if you are in the city and sitting in traffic (more sitting than just the average stop and go) you are just burning fuel while being basically stopped, that will eat way into your mpg.

guys- the gs3 is known to get 20mpg under normal driving... the v8 GSs get slightly higher simply because the gearing is more efficient.

This would be my guess too.

I have a 400 and get 325'ish with my 20's but probably 80% highway (I drive fast too).

Are you putting in premium gas? GS' should not be run on regular. Like he said, if it only took $46.00 to fill up, I suspected you are only buying 87 octane or not filling up completely. If you're using 87, you're car is not going to run as smooth and you'll get less mileage. It cost me $58.00 to fill up w/ premium this week when my tank was bone dry.

I'll bet your heavy, cast Lexanis are to blame. Because the additional weight is rotating mass, the effect is conservatively 3 times that of dead weight.

For example, lets say stock 16" GS300 wheels weigh about 18 lbs. each (not sure, but I'll bet it's close). Your Lexanis are over 40 lbs. apiece (18 x 8's are 34 lbs. according to numerous websites, so I'm sure 20's are over 40 lbs. easy). Let's take a guess and say they're 43 lbs. That's 25 lbs. more per wheel.

25 lbs. x 3 = 75 lbs. per corner, or a total of 300 lbs. Thus, rolling on Lexanis is the equivalent of having a 300 lb. passenger in your car, all the time. That'll kill your mileage for sure (not to mention acceleration, braking performance, and suspension wear).

That's why I'm a big proponent of lightweight, forged rims.

edit: FYI, I used to have a GS300 with 19" Volks. I still averaged between 20-22 mpg with a heavy foot.

When I was deciding whether to get a 300 or 400, and before even researching, I thought the 300 being a 6-cylinder would get at least 5 or 6 MPG better city/highway than the 400. This is still a shock to me. I'm now on 18" 07' GS wheels so I'm getting 30-40 miles more off of a full tank than when I did with my 20's. I do about 75% highway driving. How is it that a V8 is getting better fuel economoy over the i-6 version???
