In my 99 LS400 (same engine) I'm lucky to get 15 mpg , but I'm doing like 90% city driving. On the highway I can average between 22 and 27.
I have lightweight (~18 lbs) forged 18s, muffler delete, lexkost air intake mod.
About to try new plugs , probably torque masters, and some fuel injector cleaner to see if it helps

My GS300 gets about 22 mph doing somewhat ruralish suburban driving, probrably averaging 40 mph. When I first bought the car, I suspect CarMax filled her up with regular octane because I only got 350 miles on the tank and it runs so much smoother on premium (I always run the tank on 'E' when I first buy a used car ot get out any dealer crap gasoline). So figuring that I went for another tank empty to get out any regular-octane-badness, I got 412 miles on the tripometer when I filled up with pure-premium-octane-goodness. Ever since I have been getting about the same 22 mph, A/C on or off.
Also for a comparison, my Honda Accord I-4 VTEC gets me about 21 mph for the same route to work and about 19 with the A/c on. I use everyday. I get better gas mileage and MUCH BETTER performance in this GS300. The Kord's aiiiite, but its a dog.

Man I just read your last sentence and was like whoooaaa you drive a KORD??? Then I realize you meant the ACCORD Big Difference.
If you didn't know, a Kord is an ultra rare car from the thirties/forties, The first car IIRC with pop up headlights. It costs high six figures!!!

i drive a 400 and only get about 200-225 per tank. usually its all city driving and i mash everywhere i go. hmm maybe i'll bring it in to lexus and see what they say. i fill up once a week and it cost about $60 bucks a tank.

...Also in NY, L.I. ...and my 430, only seems to be averaging 15.9-18.2 mpg according to the trip cpu in the nav... mind you I drive only 5 miles each way to work.. and it's all stop lights... if I watch the trip cpu while on the highway, I see it from 22-26+ With gas as expensive as it is & will be, I'd love to use cruise control more often.......

On a recent trip from picking up my 98 GS400 from Ohio to Kansas which was almost 900 miles and I averaged 28-29 mpg. I was so suprised that I was getting that kind of milage on a V8

25 lbs. x 3 = 75 lbs. per corner, or a total of 300 lbs. Thus, rolling on Lexanis is the equivalent of having a 300 lb. passenger in your car, all the time. That'll kill your mileage for sure (not to mention acceleration, braking performance, and suspension wear).
That's why I'm a big proponent of lightweight, forged rims.
