Default Navigation Problem

hey i have a 02 GS3 and over the weekend i noticed that my navi map froze up on me for a few minutes then corrected itself. Its froze on 3 different occasions. I tried ejecting the disc and nothing happened. Now my screen has that unable to read disc error. I bought the car bout a year ago and never got around to updating the disc. Im pretty sure its still the 2001 version that came with the car. I would double check what version disc i have but it wont even let me check after the freezing problems. any ideas?

Look on the DVD for the version number. The 2001 version should read:
86271-33030
464210-0186
DATA 2001 ver. 1

I upgraded to the v.5 & I have that old one laying around.

Maybe try disconnecting the battery for a few mins and trying to start it up again?

I don't know if I'm doing it wrong but it won't eject. the navi has been really slow to respond when I change from menu to the map. it won't even navigate anymore. I just tried ejecting it again and now it says unable to read map dvd. I just shut everything off and let it be. its really starting to **** me off.

I will try disconnecting the battery later. just got home from the graveyard shift at work and just don't wanna deal with it right now.

yea its the original dvd that came with the car. I remember hitting the "DVD" button a while back and it showed me what version it was. It said 2001 Version XXX.

is there any reason why my dvd wont eject? I turn the key to the ACC or ON position and slide the opening back and hit the eject button and nothing happens.

Did you turn it ALL the way on? Who knows, that might work if you haven't.
