so did you pretty much spray primer and then spray flat black?

this might go well with my black & white theme

thanks for the comments guy! it was like 10bucks for the spray paint but I think it was worth it .

i washed the grill first to get all the grease/dirt/grim off, gave it a few coats of primer, then gave it a few coats of black.

I thought about that too actually....but i was afraid that the black colors between the grill and body might be slightly off.

what sucks though is that the black pearl emblem now looks like a regular chrome emblem.

I think it looks great

I actually had my OEM grill painted black to match the car by the bodyshop in case I didn't like the way the Veilside grill I'm using turned out.

For daily use I think I prefer a semi-gloss finish on it, you aren't going to match the Lexus paint and I think the difference in texture for the different surface is fine.

No need to wonder... the pictures I posted in #2 (Spectra Blue GS) are flat black .

Looks good, bro! I'm glad I found this as I'm going to do it as well. Care to share which specific primer/paint(s) you used?

I used Krylon brand "primer gray" and "satin black"

huh, never thought of that. I may try the semi-gloss then if it starts chipping...
