Post Tanabe Exhaust

Question?

I have seen alot of different exhaust systems being used on the GS400 but no mention of Tanabe-Why?

Is the Tanabe hyper-medallion cat-back exhaust a good set up for the GS400?

Appreciate any info or .

A friend of mine has the Tanabe on his GS4. It sounds good, not too loud. Canisters look very nice.

Everyone that I have talked to about it says that Tanabe is good stuff. I will be installing the cat-back system next Saturday on my GS I got a great deal on the system and can't past it up.

Tanabe is famous by their exhausts.

I was considering Tanabe when I chose the exhaust.

Default PICS?

Any pics of the exhaust? Is it a dual set up? Is the tanabe exhaust cat back or only mufflers? What is a normal price for it? I love the TTE but 950.00 is crazy for a muffler only set up

20inchgs,

it is a cat back. I know there was a groupbuy earlier for Tanabe exhausts, same time as the APEX groupbuy when I got my WS exhaust.

I don't have any pics yet-I will have pics next week when I have it installed. Its not a dual set up, just one big 3.5 inch opening on each side. It is a cat-back system for the GS. Originally the system was $1,200 retail I think that it can be bought for about $700 now.

i have a tanabe =). best exhaust in the world. just one thing..you gotta take care of the finish..everytime you wash ur car make sure u wash the exhaust tips real good with the soap water. if you leave any gunk or debri on it for more than a month its basically stuck on it for life or will leave an impression that it was there...and dont use metal polish on it..as long as u clean it with soap and water during ur car washes it should look great. this is from my past experience with them..

good luck with ur tanabe. late

I bought mine from a friend for $350 he is parting out his GS400's performance parts. He sold his car without the performance parts I think that he may still have a NOS 150shot for sale 4mths old.

Thanks for the offer though.

Hey Fierce,
How come-no metal polish
i dunno the science behind it..just from past experience...this is the second tanabe ive owned. my first one id polish constantly, and this one ive had for a year without polishing it once..in the long run i feel no metal polish is better. i dunno if this is right, but it polishes the metal by eating away a very thin layer of the metal or something..therefor u eat out the finish..i dunno if thats right or not. but maybe someone here could go into depth on how metal polish works.

great deal on ur exhaust. now its time to enjoy it =)
