Guys, this is real easy. Take 1/8"- 1/4" masking tape and tape off the parts you DONT WANT TO PAINT. You can use 1/2"- 3/4" for the major mask off. Take some 600 grit sandpaper and sand the parts that are to be painted. Get some Testors candy red model paint and spray 2 coats on the tail lights...let it sit. Then coat it with some Testors model gloss lacquer. when dry, use some rubbing compound. Automotive candy and clear are better and will hold up longer, but the DIY guy can do this for under 10 bucks.
I'll visit my local hobby shop for the paint. I'm sure they'll have it. And should I use 3M rubbing compound?
Hey speedaddic, do you know where to find some adhesive vinyl of some type? I'd like to do something similar to my LED tails but I don't want to make it as permanent.
