I'd have to agree with you on the butt ugly:eek: Some one was telling me that this is a TRD but all the TRD struts that I have seen are different. They also have TRD written accross the top. Just trying to settle a difference of opinion between me and a friend. I believe that I am right with your help

Looks like they custom polished Tom's brace but the brackets on the ends look awful and out of place.

Thumbs down

Indeed the ugliest STB I've ever seen.

It could be TEIN's.

I've seen a few of this STB with TEIN stickers on them. Either they're just slapped-on for no reason or they're really TEINs.

But that's just what I saw.

What's crazier, it clears the GS300 engine!

"JZS147".

The 1stGen TurboGS guy.

I don't know if it's the same. But seems like the 2 gen GS use that same bar due to the width adjustment? I dont know.

Another pic.

I beileve that's a Toyota factory STB for the 1st Gen GS's (JZS-14x)...why do I say that? Well because I've seen that STB on nearly EVERY 1st Gen Aristo in all my Japanese magazines. There is NEVER a sticker or any other type of logo on it and ALL the tuners use it...and, notice that there is a severe LACK of STBs for the 1st Gen GS? But I could be wrong...

I know it's not a TRD one (at least it's not listed in the 2001 TRD Complete Catalog and they do have parts in there for the 1st Gen GS...)

It's definitely not the TOM'S (the Japanese tuner)...but it could be Tom's (who goes by the CL nick of JZS147)

In any case, it is ugly.

Good point. I've noticed that about 9 out of 10 JZS147s use that STB (the other 1 ouf ot 10 doesn't use one ). So most definitely it was designed for the 1st gen. However I've seen pics of that same bar installed on a newer 16# GS (like the pics I"ve posted) so that's where I came up with the idea that maybe the width is adjustable, and the mounting angles on the 2 gen of GSs are the same.

I could be BSing.
