For what it’s worth: After installing the SRT intake ONLY (before installing the ecu) I drove my car to see: 1) if it would run at all, and 2) if it did, how it ran without the ecu “upgrade”.
Results: It ran, but not good – much hesitation and not at all smooth acceleration. Note that I did not disconnect the battery until I was ready to install ecu – so, the stock ecu had not “reset” itself. I guess you could say that disconnecting the battery to install the SRT ecu would have caused the stock ecu to reset and possibly yield the same results that I attributed to the SRT ecu. Wish I’d known to try the stock reset before test drive – could have given us some additional evidence.
