don't let the megapixels fool you. a 3mp camera phone camera could easily take great shots with good stability and lighting. your camera is fine. hehe the tripod will make a world of difference. i even go as far as using the timer automatic shot so the camera doesn't move on the tripod when i am pressing the button. the car is looking good my man! keep it up.

4mp is MORE than enough to get very very good quality shots.
many times, the setup of the camera, and the person behind it knowing how to use it, has more to do with the picture outcome than the camera.
a $4,000 camera in the hands of a noob will result in pics just like the ones you posted, while a $300 point and shoot camera in the hands of a pro can take perfect pics!
oh, and nice car!
