No other theft deterent than the fact that its gonna take some serious effort to get the sucker out of the dashbord by force!

On topic: What i dislike about the D3 is that there isnt any dual zone function (ie. navi in front, a disney movie in the rear headrests) ...the navi is dvd-based...instead of hd-based...pluss the weak lineouts that pioneer have...and that the screen is a little smaller than the rest of the competition

I considered the AVIC D3 myself...but in the end i went with the Kenwood DDX-7029 with the optional KNAG-520 hd-navi (similar to US-market 7019 i believe)

Can anyone comment on the actual installation of the AVIC-D3?
I will order the plastic bezel from Carson Toyota.

But what about the brackets to hold the thing in and wiring.
Is it straight forward?

Use the carson (or bestkits) dashkit (all parts needed SHOULD be included)...and youll find most cables you want on the amp (behind/in the dashbord on the driversside)
The only two signals that i didnt find there are...the tachosignal...wich is located behind the tachometer itself...and the ignition...that i took from the (now unused) oem plug...that before now...went into the OEM unit.
