Default radio display

hey guys i just picked up a 99 gs400. while the backlight on the radio works, most of the digital display is out. could someone guide me through the modes and what to set them at, meaning the base etc etc etc. it would help to let me know how many clicks to the right or left i should be makin...already had to bring my hand -held radio to the car to tune the stations which was retarded so i'm not trying to guess anymore. i know theres an auto adjust button but the output just doesnt seem loud or clear enough. will be purchasing another unit soon so thanks for the help.

OR
just buy another radio which is fully functional with display and all.
most members like myself that UPGRADED to aftermarket stereo systems usually sell their radios for cheap. check classifieds or post a WTB thread. am sure you will find one easily.

OR
just take this as motivation to switch to an aftermarket sound system.

good luck

My display is also bad in my 1999 GS400. The lights are fine, but the display barely shows numbers. I still have not found out how to get a new display. I can do the work, but I need the part.

While I am at it, does anyone have a lead to TODD, who is a mechanic here in Southern California? I appreciate any help anyone can give.
THANKS
