Hey guys.....I changed the bulbs using directions I found on here. Think the post was called "instruction for factory hid bulb replacement" or something by a member named shinchan. The instructions were excellent, the install was simple and quick, and I was a bit angry that Lexus has the nerve to charge 110.00 canadian labour for this!!!

Anyway, i put the D2R bulb from my friend in (just the bulb, didn't change ballast)...the light came on at first for a second or two, then there was a zapping or electrical sound and the bulb went out. Won't work anymore. Any idea what happened? Again this is using an Osram D2R bulb from a 99 or so Acura 3.2 TL

I think the name brand of the HID is HID Plus II. It's hard to find because I think it's manufactured in Japan. It is used with Acura and Lexus vehicles.

Sounds like there is something wrong with the ballast itself if it caused the bulb to burn out again.
