Just curious what you guys think. I know the 3rd gen's are obviously worth more money but I actually like the 2GS a lot better!! The body style is so unique. What do you guys think?

That is exactly what I have been thinking about. I could trade in the 2GS and get a 3GS. This means brand new car and more hp. But at the same time, I love my 2GS too much and its design is really one of a kind. As of right now, I'll stick with my 2GS.

I probably wont. I will not buy another GS until Lexus offers a GS with the steering feel of a 1998 BMW 5-series

I like driving the 3GS more then the 2GS. Its a lot smoother, the steering is better, and it has more power...but the body lines of the 2GS is more attractive. The 3GS is well....rather dull IMO.

If I could take a straight up trade right now and I couldn't sell the 3GS for anything else i'd keep my car.

Only thing I'd change would be the color.

98-05 body style is a timeless classic. i just sold my 98 gs400 and im in the process of buying another 2g GS430.

to be honest I wouldn't trade mine for a 3rd gen, I really don't like the look of the new one (3rd gen) for a new IS-F now we might be talking, if I only had the extra money to spend, DAMN mortgage

when i drove it first it seemed a bit smaller on the inside. its got all the gadgets, but my 2gs4 is still less than half the price of a new 3gs4

maybe at 200k, i'll get a 4gs4!

Dont want to trade my car in because I wouldnt get near what its worth, since it has been babied from the beginning. But a GS450 is very tempting

Well, my eventual plan is to keep the 2GS as a weekend show/race car. Then have a GS-F or E60 M5 as my daily...but knowing BMW's it will probably break down and I'll have to drive the GS whenever the M5 is in the shop lol!

800-1kHP+ 2GS for weekend fun
450-500HP+ 3GS or 500HP M5 for grocery gettin

I think we have all thought about this at one time or another including myself. Its very tempting to go to the dealer and try to work out a trade for a GS350 or IS 350.. I like both cars but I'm afraid the IS maybe a bit to small for me.

But than again my car is barely broken in and I'm not done modding.. (are we ever ) LOL Plus the price tag is pretty hefty on the GS.. I happy and grateful of what i have and there's just not another car that can really compare to the 2 Gen GS..
