But I just checked kelly blue book and the value of a 1999 GS300 with 166,000 miles in excellent condition is $13,140! Damn these cars sure do hold their value...

mileage doesnt mean much...depends on what kind of life the car went through through those 165k miles. I hope you at least looked into a carfax, test drive and under the hood...I almost bought a perfectly looking GS with a clean carfax, then I popped the hood and theres water spots all over the car.

and carfax...i dunno. mine had constant maintance @ Lexus until I got it b/c I do most everything by myself. So it still might be maintained. If you know of a fellow GS owner, take him/her with you and see if it drives any different.

If the car looks great on the outside then it is very possible the maintenance was also well taken care of. I can tell you from experience (look at my signature) that a well taken car of Lexus/Toyota will last a long time.

The dealer is not the place to get a used car, why ? it is already marked up a couple of grand, they took it in as a trade or got it at auction, look for one being sold by private party, it can be considerably less. Also the engine looks like it was steam cleaned and armor alled....look around, and pick up a car with less miles.

Maybe you can ask a member in the SE forum to check it out before you drive up? If its one owner, that is a good thing. I just got off the phone with Kofi so I chimed in.

Oh ok tell Kofi I said wassup. But anyway I don't really mind taking a trip to the sunshine state!! Even if I don't come back with the car i'm sure the trip will still be worth it(if you know what i'm sayin, lol).
