DONT RUSH!!! Take your time and do things right. It took me about 6 mos. to find mine. But when I found it I was very happy. 99 GS 300 for 10.5k (115k). As long as you get the car checked out by a Lexus mechanic you should be fine. Good Luck!

Well yea man I know I shouldn't rush but i'm like you I gottagitmines!! Lol, but seriously though man i'm not rushing. I'm gonna have the car inspected at the Lexus dealership and then and only then will I make the purchase. Barring any kind of major problems i'll be bringing her home this weekend. And if not, may the search continue...Thanks for the feedback everybody, all of your opinions are really helpful.

My car is getting ready to turn over to 181k soon, and my dad is trying to get me to trade it in on a new Tundra. It's so stupid, but I won't do it. It's been highly reliable, and I would have no problem driving it on a cross country trip tomorrow.

I bought it with almost 112k and have spent about $4-5k on tires, timing belt, water pump, etc. It was a friend's car before I got it, and they didn't do all service at the Lexus dealer. Spending that money over the course of 3 years isn't too bad, and you should probably expect to spend some money replacing things that MIGHT go at that mileage (certain suspension components for example). Do this, and it'll never leave you stranded.

Great info Mister P thanks!! As for mods I really don't plan on doing anything (other than wheels) that should affect the performance of the car. I'm not really a big mod type person i'll just be doing audio/video upgrades for the most part. And of course tails and a grille. But i'm not gonna lower it or anything so I anticipate being crucified by you guys when I post pics!!! lol

LOL, that's what they all say at first, but when the mod bug strikes...haha, you'll be modding. I told myself I would never drop my GS4, and low and behold, look at my sig below

seriously, 165k is nothing. my 98 gs4 has about 160k and it still drives very strong and idles very smooth. some people think it is a 2005 model because it is in such great shape. i love it!

Naw man I really can't drop it because I have a full load most of the time. People ride with me a lot and its already makes me rub on my current car even without the drop.
