Default Garage door opener: why is mine SO WEAK?!

I've had this problem for a while but just never posted it. I'm not sure if it's a problem or it's just a limitation in the GS's garage door openers.

I have a GS400 and my mother has an LX470. Our driveway holds like 4 cars (2 cars parked side by side and behind each other).

I can't open the garage with my GS unless my car is literally like right in front of the garage. On the LX, it can open the garage even from like the street while the car is driving by the house!

So... is my GS's system messed up, or is the LX's just new and improved, therefore better?

I think your GS one is messed up. I can open my garage door from the intersection that's before my house. That's like 150 ft away...

It used to be powerful when I first bought the car. Does the garage door opener have to depend on anything? Does it have its own battery?

I removed the garage door opener component thing from its panel. I waved it around the car (while still attached by the harness obviously) and it was able to open it from the street.

Perhaps it's stock location is inteferring with the signal.
