A belated condolence is better than no condolence at all. Truly sorry to hear that.

A homicide case will never be closed and there is no statute of limitations on a homicide. That means you can be charged for a murder that happened 50 years ago. It might become a "cold case" where there are no new leads to follow or action to take, but it is never closed until solved.

I will also add another bit of info... all the evidence has to be stored until the person charged has completed their prison term or dies. So, if you spend 70 years in jail, every bit of evidence is stored for 70 years.

Hey, sorry for your loss bro. That really does suck. The same thing happened to friend of mine in 1991. It's too bad that California isn't Texas, and I live in Harris County, which sends more people to death row than any county in the U.S.

For Capital Murder they'd be facing 40 years in prison automatically or Death! We don't play around here.

Trust me, that dumb a$$ will think enough time went by and come back to visit his homies, and he'll get picked up at a traffic stop. His day will come!!!

Keep us updated, and my condolences go out to everyone affected by this tragedy. I hope you're doing alright and time will make it easier.

Yeah but Texas also has the most people in prison who are later found inicent. It was just in the news pretty much saying texas gets to excited and pretty much arrest anyone who they think did the crime wich means the real bad guyys are still out there

I know it's been a while now, but are there any updates? I want to see the guy get convicted and spend the rest of his life in jail suffering.
