Talking GS430 DRLs

I am new to this forum so I am sorry if I am asking this in the wrong thread. I have recently replaced my HB3's/9005 high beam/DRLs with LED plug and play bulbs. While the LED high beams work perfectly when applied, the DRL function is not turning on as usual when I turn on the car. Any thoughts on this?

You need a resistor or they won't work

So If you swap LED in place of the 9005 Hi beams, it eliminates the DRL? Theres no problem with running half current through the LEDs? Might be a solution for eliminating the DRLs im looking for.

If you do not use the R1 resistors and connect the LEDs directly you will eliminate the DRL function.

Are you talking about the fusebox jump fix ?

Default DRLs

Np. So, I believe they are supposed to. But mine for some reason are currently working as DRLs only. I lost the high beam function with the kit.

Without the kit, you will lose your DRLs and your LEDs will operate as high beams

I am trying to lose the DRL. Which LEDs did you get?

Default My method for disabling DRL

I wanted to post my method for DRL disabling. I PREFER to run my fog lamps as my DRL instead, so I disabled my DRL by way of the parking brake switch method. The Yellow Black wire at pin 1 of the PB SW to the DRL relay connector Pin 4 is basically a ground. If you set your parking brake turn the vehicle off and than back on the DRL are disabled but once your release it they come right back on. So I cut the Yellow Black wire close to the relay which is mounted on the Passenger side of the vehicle directly behind the glove box. On my vehicle the relay module is green. I than looped the yellow black wire into a ground point at Pin 6 which is E for ground. The vehicle now interprets this as if I have the parking brake on, BUT it wont conflict with the Park brake switch wire that goes to the Body Control module which tells the cluster to illuminate the BRAKE light on the dash. Ive had it this way for a few days without issue. I included a wiring diagram for the 99 model and for the 2003. I Hope this helps others that might want to do it. PEACE
