Default Car keeps cranking after I turn it off

So I go to shut off my car and it here this whining noise under my hood. I open the hood and the car just keeps turning over even with the key out. I turn the ingnition to the red and the car comes on. Finally it shut off. What could this be?

I will tell you my similar experience. My car was trying to fire with the key out and burned up the starter. I actually burned up two starters before we figured out the it was something in my remote start that was doing it. So I disabled my remote start and I haven't had anymore problems.

I don't have remote start but it sounds like it could be the starter. When it stopped whining I heard a click.

Default starter

I had that problem on my gs400, i brought it to dynamic's in Midway City and said that it was the started, i guess the plunger got stuck in the open position so they replaced my starter for me. Everything was fine after that.

Damn that sucks. For anyone who has this problem, don't hesitate to change your starter. Its no fun having to get the harness replaced....

Humm... Seems to me that the starter solenoid got stuck and this cause to burn the starter. So the lesson is to change the solenoid before it got bad.

I had see so many concerns with the starter together with the ball joints!
