Running lights
Hi y'all. I"m new to this group and new to Lexus. This is probably a stupid question, but I'm asking anyway. Courteous and responsible replies invited.
I just bought my 2000 GS3 a couple weeks ago. (I'm now an ex-Bimmer driver -- long, ugly story about my old 325.) I've got everything from the dealer -- the keys, the owner's manual, the maint schedule. The one thing still puzzling me is: how do I keep the daytime running lights turned off for this car? I've followed the book instructions to the letter, but if the engine is on, the lights are on. Why does this matter? Well, if I'm trying to be stealthy (it's a black-on-black GS), the lights need to be OFF!

Not sure if its the same but
The IS guys have found a way to do it you may want to check out what they've done. Or you could look at the CT meet posts to see if anyone has a pic of the hood open, there is a small box/module near the passg side strut tower that disconnects the DRL's. (at least that's where it is on the IS) A few other GS guys were trying to get a dealer to do it but unsuccessfully. (dealer said no way - too much liability- imho)

there is a way to do it.. you need to take it to a shop that knows what they are doing.. mine is wired so my drl's come on with my corner lights. I also got it wired so that i can run my fogs without headlights, and so that my fogs dont turn off when my highbeams are on. check this link. with this explination the shop that did mine were able to disable my drl's http://bananags.grantham-international.com/ good luck.. totally worth it..looks great...
