It's suppose to be about the same size. It's Nissan's answer to GS. About the same performance, size, etc. But quality will not be as good as Toyota/Lexus. That's a given.
I'll admit that I'm not very familiar with the Skyline, but I think that the model upon which the G35 is being based is similar to the 3-series, IS300, A4, etc., in terms of size, performance, etc.
Don't quote me on any of this, though...

G35 is one class higher than the I35 (ES class) positioned as a sport sedan. So it's pretty similar to a GS

Hmmmmm....interesting. I was under the impression that the G35 was going to serve the same purpose as the IS300 to Lexus in that it would complement the I35 the same way the IS300 complements the ES300; one is a smaller sport sedan and the other a slightly larger luxury sedan, both in basically the same price range.
Here's some info from AutoWeek regarding the G35:
and MotorTrend says:
which matches pretty well with the IS300/3-series.
Here's some info from AutoWeek regarding the G35:
Scheduled to go on sale next spring as a 2003 model, the G35 is based on the Nissan Skyline and features sports sedan styling and a 3.5-liter V6 engine powering a new rear-wheel-drive platform.
Sound familiar? If the IS 300 from Toyota's top-line Lexus brand comes to mind, you have a pretty good idea of where the Nissan folks are aiming. The G35 will finally give Infiniti a rear-wheel-drive competitor to the IS, the BMW 3 Series and Mercedes C-Class.
It's no coincidence either that the Infiniti trumps Lexus with a 3.5-liter engine. Horsepower and torque figures aren't out yet, but look for at least 260 hp, easily surpassing the 215 hp produced by the IS 300's inline six.
Until the G35 debuts, Infiniti's midsize sedan remains the front-wheel-drive I35.

These dimensions put the car close to the BMW 5 Series in all but length, where the XVL comes six inches shorter.

Here's some info from AutoWeek regarding the G35:
The TL is alittle longer than the GS but it's definitely not in the same class. G35's characteristics are closer to the GS. Big roomy sedan with performance. IS/C/3 are smaller. Infiniti's answer for them is G20 (
)
What I'm saying is, Nissan tried to place the G35 next to the GS and 5 series, etc. and magazines end up rating it a class lower :eek:

The G35 will be 184 inches long which puts it in-between IS300 (176.6 in) and GS series (189 in), but the wheelbase will be 111 inches compared to the IS at 105 in and the GS at 110.2 in. so despite being not that long there will be much interior room. Yup you will wallop the TL-S.. even the boy son www.acura-tl.com admit it: http://www.acura-tl.com/forum/showth...ght=1%2F4+mile
