Default question about rear wing spoilers and legality

I am in the market to get a rear wing (eventually) and i was leaning more towards a lip spoiler, preferably a 3 piece like the JP, not one of the tiny ones that just goes along the trunk. So my question is this, since many of these wing styles seem to extend off the top of the trunk at least a few inches, will it block the visibility of the brake light in the rear deck if you are looking at the car from behind? I wouldn't want a fix-it ticket for that bulls**t. Probally being paranoid but anyone have feedback on this?

I get what you're saying but I don't think you would get pulled over if you're 3rd brake light is being blocked. Think about this way.... your car will probably be lowered if not already and other cars will be "taller" than yours so they'll probably still see your 3rd brake light. Plus SUVs will still be able to see the 3rd brake light.

i see your point but even with the possibility of lowering, the ***-end on a 2GS does sit quite high. Enough i think that a cop might be able to use it as a BS excuse to pull you over, like not having a front license plate. I'm not really concerend with other drivers being able to see my third brake light, just cops with nothing better to do than hassle young guys driving nice cars.

Hey ProfesrLex,

None of the spoilers made for our Gen. GS will sit up that high enough to block the view of your 3rd. Brake light. Even though the RMM, L-Sportline, and Veilside K-1 sits high, it doesn't block the view of your light enough for the cops to say it was the reason he pulled you over. Now if you get those ones that sit on a Civic, Accord, Acura's universal mid wings then you may have a problem. Get the spoiler already, by the way I have a Veilside Executive Sports wing for sale.(what a plug huh?).

Neither the 3pc: JP,RMM,Wingswest,L-sportline or anyother popular 3pc spoiler block your view...

Unless your getting one of those really cool CF race wings? That might block your veiw but you'll gain HP so its a nice trade off I guess.

erebuni 3pc looks just as good for a better price. Most people don't even notice the difference.

Yeah, but to my knowledge they are out of production and impossible to find. Can anyone confirm this or let me know if it is still sold somewhere??
