Default which HID Kid should I get

I have a 98 GS400 without the HID's and was wondering if anyone could recommend a good HID Kit. I want to have the purplish hue found on the Audi's if possible.

what I did, on my '01 GS300, I went the Lexus yard.....got the head lights compleate with bulbs and balasts for $450, took out my old head lights, and installed the HID ones inplace, the only thing the doesn't work is the Auto leveling computer..other wise you got your self an OEM (original equipment manufacture) set-up the is goign to work and look real not white like the cheap philips that people buy.........................................................................................................................................................................................................................If any one knows how I can hook up the auto-leveling for the HID headlights ?
Thanks.

My Philips don't look cheap..(Heck they weren't cheap either!! $495) My headlights have a nice white-purple color very bright..no hint of yellow(halogen look) at all and the only time they look blue is when I first turn them on...

M1LEXU5,
i am defnintely interested, but I live down in DC so I'm gonna have to get the HID kit down here and have them install it. What is the name of your HID kit, I'm definitely looking for the purplish hue. Any info you could provide would be a great help.

Default OEM is the only way

Sure aftermarkets may "appear" alright, but they are not OEM. Sticking some bulbs into the car is not the answer unless you get a "focused" system. Aftermarket kits are not focused properly for the cars and tend to spread the light in all directions. Cheap IMO. Go with the oem setup. Cost less with much better output.
Curious as why the Self leveling feature wont work in the conversion. Thats the best part, people love and point at my lights when I kick them on. They go up ,then down, than up again. Amazing.

How do you figure that Oem is cheaper than aftermarket. Last time I checked Oem HID's cost $2200. Aftermarket kits cost around 500-$700.

Yeah, I know. The lenses alone (which refract light differently than non-hid OEMs) cost around $500, add the ballasts, auto-leveling, and bulbs, you're well over a grand, not including installation.

hey this "dubz" cus again. the diff. between the phillips stage1 and the stage 2 i have is that the phillips are 4200k and the stage 2 is 6000k. the result is the purplish/bluish hue you see on bmw/audi. i am selling these kits which are plug and play for cheaper than the price that most stores have. if your interested or want pics i can take some off of my 01 rx300 which i recently installed them on. contact me at steven_k@pacbell.net
