Default GS4: intake resonator removal

I was cleaning my throttle body last weekend and I had to take off that big black box that just makes my car more quiet.

and I noticed that SRT intakes allows you to take that off.

Is it possible for me to just take that off? If so, what do I do with those 3 vacuum lines??

good question! I was wondering that as well. I would like to get rid of that as well but don't know what to do with those lines.

You can take it off. It's only real purpose is to quiet down the sound of air rushing into your engine. I've done it on a few other cars. Cap off the hole in the snorkel and cap those three vacuum lines. I don't think that they serve any other functions. If you can wait until Monday I will pull a vacuum diagram out of my database while I'm at work and tell you exactly where they go and alternate places you can put them, if you even need them.

The diagram I have only shows one line coming off of the resonator. This line goes to the Charcoal Canister. You can cap this line and it should be fine. If there are more line, trace them to their source and if you can tell me where they go, I can suggest a fix to you. Unfortunatley I don't have a GS400 I can go look at.

*Whatever you use to cap the resonator outlet in the snorkel, make sure it cannot be sucked inside. You don't want that running through your engine.*

so can we remove it and cap off the lines or are they needed for the manifold and pump? How do you remove it?

just leave it alone, that's how lexus made it, to getthe feel of a luxury car not a race car.
