You will need the gear puller to get the piece off the old motor, so you can put it on the new motor.

Job complete..didn't break my labor time for the previous driver's side. Still 4 hrs..taking apart the plastic motor assembly took some time as I did not want to break it knowing the retail price. Video was spot on, the gear puller was definitely needed, I would've bent the shaft if I tried it some other way. Old motor smelled like burning electronics..yuck. All good now for $20 and a bunch of my time. Someone needs to make a vid for the rears, as thats the only original actuator motors left on my car..lol.

I have notices that a few people have purchased new actuators. Would anyone be willing to sell me the cable off the old one (the one with the plastic end)? I broke mine while replacing the motor.

i tired buying some from a guy the classifieds he kept flodging on me bout them. i broke my cable also so finally i bought a new actuator

i have been trying to come across some used actuators so i can find a cable that will work for people but i havent taken mine out again in awhile....

chris will be removing mine next time and i will measure it and maybe we can find one

Was the actuator the only thing you needed to do the fix or are other parts required? I just want to get everything I need all at once since I have to fix 3 doors lol

Yea all you need is the motors
But if I was you I would buy an extra 1 or 2
I broke two motors when putting back the gear
If you watch the DIY video on youtube its very easy

Rear doors alil pain & took me alil longer then the front
& I didn't remove the glass like the video(I found no need for that)

Any ideas on how many hours of labor the dealer would charge for this?

If it is just replacing the whole actuator I can do it in about 15 mins per door. The dealer may have a 1/2 hour labor min though.

Not sure how many hours but dealers normally charge $500+ to replace each actuator which is ridiculous. I would say 3 to 4 hours at $100 an hour plus a hundred and some for the part. My driver side just went out, my passenger has been out since I bought the car, and the passenger rear goes in and out so one of these days I am going to attempt to do this, no way am I paying a dealer over $1500 to fix this design defect. Hope it does not turn into a nightmare.
