My front driver side door can get locked by key but not keyless or from inside the car. My rear right door cannot be locked manually or automatically by any any means - basically I just can't lock it in any way. I am assuming the actuator is the problem in both cases. I saw the following part on ebay being sold by someone overseas - this actuator has six pins - is this compatible with lexus GS400 1998 - they say it is but I have seen just 4 pins in actuator in some places and they say their's has six. Can someone please confirm if this part would be compatible. Thanks.

I would refrain from buying anything for my GS by some random seller overseas. I just had the dealer replace my rear left actuator yesterday (and had my front left replaced this past summer) with genuine oem Lexus parts. I always buy from Sewell Lexus as the prices cant be beat for top quality oem parts. Check them out instead of gambling on something from a non-Lexus dealer on ebay.

I just finished doing these little motors this weekend. I found out what I needed in the early pages of this thread and for about 45$ rebuilt all 3 bad lock actuators. Sure enough the old motors had charred black stuff all over em. Took me about two hrs on the first door and about an hour on the rest. There's a YouTube video if you search for it. One tip is with the back doors you don't need to remove the door handles.I found this out the hard way. Plus definitely have some razor blades and an exacto knife on hand to work the cover off the actuators.

i replaced my front passenger side w/ a chinese knock off for ~$20.00 and it has been working fine thus far. the pins did not connect properly initially, and i realized the pin white part wasnt properly seared in the actautor housing unit. i improvised and stuck some toothpicks in it to press the white pin part down and voila, it clicked and worked (talk about terrible quality control)
however, the chinese knock offs on ebay do not work for the rear doors even tho they are advertised as such (they send you either a 2 or 6 pin actuator, and the gs300s have 4 pins). i tried to go the method prevalent in the forum but have issues with removing the coupler from the old gear (i have already bent 2 gear pullers and barely got the coupler about 1/4 way off. any suggestions on alternate ways to remove the coupler? its really stuck on the motor rod.

Can anyone tell me which motor shaft is correct for the GS300door locks in this link?

Would these actuators work for our fronts? (notice they are 6 pin)

Also, what type of gear puller are you guys mentioning about? Can anyone post a link to ebay?
