60,000 mile service
Hello All! I drive a GS 300 2002 and I'm needing to get my 60,000 mile service done. I was wondering if anyone could tell me what this includes and if I can take it anywhere (if you suggest) cheaper to get it done other than at the dealership. I recently put synthetic oil, a K&N airfilter, and K&N oil filter in and can easily change my spark plugs. I also discovered that after getting a new set of tires and a synthetic oil change at NTB - the guys left my oil cap off and the air filter didn't even fit right in the box and there was a bunch of dirt and debris in it... so be careful to anyone who gets any work done on their cars other than tires... thank goodness I didn't get anything else done!
Thanks in advance for your response!!!

02 GS 300 60k Service:
Inspections: Transmission Fluid, Ball Joints, Body Corrosion, Brake Hoses and Lines, Brake Linings, Brake Pads, Differential Fluid, Drive Belts, Driveshaft, Exhaust System, Fuel Lines, Fuel Tank, Fuel Vent Vapor Hoses, Rack and Pinion, Steering Linkage, Valve Clearence (Audible Inspection Only).
Replacement:Air Filter, Brake Fluid, Cabin Air Filter, Engine Coolant, Oil, Oil Filter, *Spark Plugs*.
Re-Torque: Driveshaft Flange
Road Test
Rotate Tires.
Straight from Mitchell Labor Data.
Go to an independent shop, same service, a little cheaper. Look for a AAA Shop that specializes in preventative maintenance. Book time for this service is 5.2 hours. Take the shop labor rate x 5.2 hrs. + Parts and you will know about how much this should cost. Lexus/Toyota Dealers are notorious for getting astronomical prices for maintenance services so be careful.

I did the the 60 on my 430.......
BG coolant flush
BG brake fluid flush
BG Trans flush
I do the oil, I know if the filter is dirty, and if the car runs fine you never replace the plugs until there is an issue or 100k
All cost about 400

On a well maintained car you can get 100k out of the plugs. But the 60k from Lexus says replace them. Use your own discretion.
