Ive got an 00 GS 300 and about 2 weeks ago I started having a slight bump noise when I would turn left at slow speeds (ie parking)... The noise gradually got louder and I took it to my mechanic last Thursday because I was going to have to take a long trip over the weekend and he looked at it real quick on the lift and didnt see anything loose and so I was on my trip on friday and had gone about 250 miles and was turning into a parking spot and it made a really loud bumping noise and since then Ive put another 800 miles on it and the noise is gone... Im happy its stopped but would kind of like to know what was going on.

How many miles are on your car? Did the mechanic check the front lower ball joints?

If he only looked at it real quick, then I doubt he found anything. Mechanics should take their time, but not take so much time that it drives a person insane.

Right at 100k and it had the 90k mile service done at Lexus @91k miles...

He checked the lower ball joints and made sure everything was still bolted on tight... He's a buddy of mine and actually asked me to stop by so he could put it up on the rack and take a look at it since he knew I was ready to make the trip and he didnt charge me anything...
