How do you remove the center console? (owned in my own thread, I got it out, lol)

Hello sir. I guess you missed my response to your Q in my old "dark walnut" thread?
The center console part indeed pulls up & out. I'd remove the ashtray first,
then pull upwards on the rearmost portion of the center trim (forward of the center armrest). Unplug the switches and it should come free fairly easily- once the rear of the trim is up, pull the assembly rearward and it
will pop out of the dash clips.
I detailed the door panel removal in the other (old) thread).
A side note: if you're doing a black candy clear (like I did) consider doing the
shifter ring. Mine was the old matte black version, but with the black candy
sprayed on it it looks gloss black sometimes and black chrome other times.
Pretty cool!
Good luck!

Boy... it's a good thing that I didn't post this thread... i was thinking about it. I want to take the wood out of my car and have them professionally painted black. Usually, with cars of this caliber, you don't have play tug-o-war with the parts... I guess I was wrong!
